 Foundation Info

Alex Schon first inspired the foundation. His condition, many life challenges and indomitable spirit led to the foundation's goals.

1. Provide financial assistance for the care of Alex Schon. Despite health insurance, Alex’s parents – Richard and Terri - are facing severe financial hurdles that make it difficult to provide the best care options. The primary objective of this foundation is to assist in providing the financial resources to improve Alex’s quality of life.

2. Additional, longer term goals of the foundation are to accumulate and stay current on various treatment options and provide a useable resource for parents and caregivers of Cloverleaf Syndrome children by publishing on this web site – as well as to provide financial assistance to other children with Cloverleaf Syndrome or other types of craniosynostosis.
  Alexander's Story

Alexander Schon was born with Cloverleaf Syndrome on May 26th, 2000 in Orlando, Florida. From the beginning, he has astounded his doctors (but not his parents) with his spirit, his ability to withstand numerous surgeries, and his unique and sunny personality.

Alex is 3 years old now and continues to face daily challenges. Currently, his parents Richard and Terri are trying to decide whether to schedule surgery for Alex - something that has been recommended by
Doctor Morrison's Team at Miami's Children hospital.

As always, with a Cloverleaf Child, the caregivers must sort through conflicting opinions, financial options, quality-of-life considerations.
